Course Introduction

Equip your employees with the knowledge and skills they need for effective leadership in the event of an emergency -First Aid and CPR training.

First Aid training is a legal requirement in the workplace. It is also a demonstration of CARE in your employees’ welfare who will equip themselves for the betterment of broader community safety. IKS has the trained solution specialists who are ready to help.

Occupational hazards exist in every workplace. It is also present at home and in our community. These undesirable events require immediate attention. First Aider effectively become the first responder to the sick and injured before the arrival of healthcare personnel. Often this makes a difference between life and death. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) are two key elements of the Basic Life Support (BLS) discipline.

These two (2) days comprehensive training is highly hands-on as we will practice using a dummy.


Training Objectives/ Deliverables:

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the latest American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines
  • Enable their organization to be in compliance with the relevant legal requirements and DOSH guidelines
  • Perform the use of AED confidently and independently with combination of CPR
  • Understand the Do’s and Don’ts of being a qualified first aider, avoiding causing more harm to the victim
  • Use corrects and safe methods in relieving of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for victims
  • Acquire the knowledge and skills in basic bandaging and splinting
  • Become a resource to sudden cardiac arrest victims and increase their survival rate

This course is a must for employees and individual who are assigned to Emergency Response Team. It is also a priority training for all

  • OSH Practitioners,
  • Sites Supervisors or Team Leads,
  • Safety and Security Personnel,
  • Safety and Health Committee Members.
  • All levels of employees, contractors and interested individuals


Entry Requirements:

  • Ability to Read and Write in English / Bahasa Malaysia
  • Physically and mentally fit for practical sessions under shaded and control environment
  • Experience of being first aider is an advantage, but not a prerequisite


Training Approach and Methodologies:

Our course covers a hybrid of classrooms and practical, hands-on sessions, It is Highly engaging, lively and interactive experience for every participant. Motivational audio-visual presentation with real scene pictures and recording will be part of the standard content.

Here is What makes us different, we will have Scenario based make up drill – to test the mental strength and preparedness of participants on their ability to respond to an emergency situation. In other words, this is a real test that make the participant a competent First Aider.


Assessment and Certification:

This course covers assessment and certification.The Certification of proficiency is awarded on strict criteria of 100% attendance in both knowledge session and practical, and upon satisfactorily performing CPR and AED using dummy.


Validity

Certificate of proficiency valid for 3 years from the date of examination. A practical refresher is recommended yearly to refresh the participants of their hands on life saving skills.
